Open Call: Any U.S.-born Asian-Americans (who either identify as such, or are read as such)!!

green-street-politics:

I have a group project in my Sociology- Minority Studies class, in which we are to present about a given group.  We are supposed to narrow our group down to a much smaller, much more specific subgroup, since the time limit for the presentation is pretty short (15-25 minutes).

If you, or anyone you know, is a U.S.-born Asian-American, and you would like to contribute anything to the project, I would love to get in touch!

I will be typing out or scanning our prompts as soon as I start hearing from people, but the general gist of the presentation is to “allow the class to ‘experience’ the culture”.  I intend to get this class to understand what the fuck it’s like to be yellow and born stateside.

I, personally, would like to also interview hapas, but I will have to communicate with my group about that.

SO! TL;DR

Looking for U.S.-born Asian-Americans (including hapas, for now) who are willing to be interviewed or otherwise submit information for our research for this project!

Multi-racial Japanese American born in the US here (sorry, I really don’t like the ‘H’ word and all of its colonial marking). Glad to help submit and signal boost.
